Collaborative child welfare and community partnerships are a key factor in shaping child welfare strategies and in delivering family-focused services. By working together to support families in the neighborhoods in which they live, a family’s natural support system can be used to promote long-term stability for parents reunifying with their children from foster care.

This May, during National Foster Care Month, we recognize the important role community partners play in meeting the needs of children and families involved with the child welfare system. Visit the Children’s Bureau’s National Foster Care Month website to learn how you can engage with your community and help spread the word about the needs of children and youth in foster care.
