It’s that time of year again! National Foster Youth Institute (NFYI) is preparing for its annual Congressional Foster Youth Shadow Week Experience for 2019, and we’re looking for 100 exceptional individuals to serve as delegates in Washington, DC, this coming June!
Our open application period was scheduled to expire at midnight on Thursday, January 31, 2019, but we’re extending that deadline to midnight on Thursday, February 28.
We’ve heard from so many exceptional young people, and we want to extend this special experience to as many applicants as possible.
We’re reaching out to you because of your past interest or work with NFYI, and we’d like you to consider joining us or recommending someone you think would benefit from this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Successful applicants will serve as Delegates to this year’s fully immersive week in Washington, DC, where you will experience, first-hand, how laws are made and legislation is passed by our representatives in Congress. You’ll follow your member of Congress for a full day, participate in seminars, and be heard in a special Town Hall event, among other activities. You’ll even get a chance to experience some of Washington’s most famous and exciting monuments and museums.

Because this is such a special experience, however, we are only considering Delegates who have not attended in years past. If this is you, please share this information with your friends and family who may be eligible.
